Maverick Monday: Clint "Tobias" Bordley Jr.
Clint “Tobias” Bordley Jr. is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He recognized at an early age that he was a natural born leader and was set apart from the rest of his peers. Growing up in a neighborhood that was prone to violence, racial disparity and high school dropouts, Tobias focused on preparing for college to beat the stereotypes that society placed on his livelihood. In 2014, Tobias graduated from Morgan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. Tobias is highly motivated, deeply dedicated, and committed to the success of young African American Males. He currently serves as a Resident Director at his alma mater where he helps foster a living learning environment that endorses programming focused on academic success and personal development. As a child advocate, motivational speaker, and crusader for change, Tobias believes that the world can be changed but it starts within. In order to implement change, you have to be willing to spend time with yourself because it’s in those moments that you are able to truly discover who you are. Tobias’ favorite passage is Psalm 150. He meditates on this passage each morning before starting his day because he feels that even in his low moments, God always commands him to have a praise on his lips as long as he has breath in his body.
