Do Not Disturb
iPhone users have a feature on their phones that allow them to take a temporary break from others and the world. It gives them the ability to dictate the time frame of which they would prefer to be "unbothered" so they can have a moment to exhale from the busyness that life can bring. How many of us wish it were that simple to unplug and use the "Do Not Disturb" feature when dealing with disappointments in areas of our lives? We try to dismiss them or avoid them as if they don't exist. Thinking that if we don't give notice to them, they'll disappear. However, the "Do Not Disturb" feature is only a quick fix....remember its temporary. Once you return from your break you still have to face the reality of life's disappointments. God is the only one who can help you deal with disappointments. So, instead of looking down, look UP. God is the ultimate source. He is ALWAYS with us. Our true hope comes from Him. So instead of relying on a phone feature to resolve our personal matters, take rest in the promises of God.
Psalms 91:1-3 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence."
Romans 8:28 "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
