I had a friend tell me once “favor ain’t fair.” At the time I wasn’t quite sure what she meant by that phrase. It wasn't until I experienced God's favor for myself that I found out exactly what my friend meant. When God shows gracious kindness towards an individual, we have witnessed tangible evidence of God's favor upon them. The favor of God is meant to elevate you and place you exactly where you need to be. Others may feel they are more deserving of the gifts and blessings you receive, but when God blesses you it can’t be compared to others. Comparison comes from discontentment. In essence, it's telling God that we believe what He's given us is not enough. The favor of God is immeasurable. While favor may not be fair, it's also not free. “.....to whom much is given, from him much is expected” (Luke 12:48).
